Each day I put on a mask of smiles and courage, a mask that conceals the despair in my eyes. Facing a world of familiar strangers, I put on this disguise to keep my emotions away from those strangers whose faces all looked like mine. Abhorring each day of living alone, I wear this mask that hides not my tears, not my lies, not my misery, but the trails of my grief that marked my face with scars.

Clenched fist I will pound the wall, blaming myself for the tears that rolled down the world's cheeks. With all fingers pointed at me, this suffering in my chest would never equal the anguish I inflicted upon the hearts of those wo cared. No penance would be enough to save my decaying soul. And with each drop of my blood that will stain the wall, I will cry my apologies to the heavens. No matter how much it would hurt, I will keep pounding until this gash on my forehead stops bleeding.

Grabbed by the throat, a shotgun pointed at me. Everywhere I look, there was no way to be free. There at the altar, my nightmare has started. Trapped inside the church by the country's most wanted. In fear for my life, I kept praying for an escape. Nowhere was it found, they wrapped me in duct tape. Gripped me by the hand and forced to it this ring. Made me say "I do" through a shotgun wedding. In the night's silence, I found a glimpse of heaven in your hidden wings. Redeemed by your affection, you're my nocturnal angel.

Crescent like a scythe, the moon reminded me Of one fact that until now, I still refuse to see. "Moons don't mean a thing if there will be no sun. Even though it gives light, in reality it has none." However I look at it, these celestials are our symbols. One can stand alone yet the other fades and crumbles. My essence will not exist unless you shed me light. Every moment you're away, all I have are dark nights. To me you are the sun, the reason I have a purpose. On my own I am nobody, a rock lurking in shadows. Might as well vanish if you won't come back soon. Existence means nothing if I'm lonely like the moon.

What if I tell you that this poem is a proposition. In each line is a letter that spells out a question. Letters that would form a choice you have to make. Letters that would build a decision you have to take. Yours is the answer that determines what's next. On your shoulders lie the conclusion of this text. Understand that I planned carefully about all this. Many things I considered so that this time I won't miss. A life spent with you will be a dream come true. When clouds hover by, I stand under its shadows and stare at my palm. Its lines turn into rainbows, and your hand, the pot of gold.

Tonight is the night when my room will come alive. The night when my bed will be my wrists, soaked in blood from my ruptured pulse. The night when my walls will be my eyes, lined with black tears from my unheard cries. The night when this bulb will be my heart, busted and unlit due to constant misuse. Tonight is the night when this pillow will be my head, the exit wound of the bullet that was once cupid's arrow.
